ELLE VETTICA

Based on the ubiquitous font, cult classics and nouvelle-vague French girls, punny girl Elle Vettica has you holding up your phone to ask, “Is she or isn’t she?”
Raised in the woods of Novar, ON by two audiophiles, Elle Vettica is an artist seeking community, always trying to find ways of connecting her own colourful version of the real world to everyone else’s. Filled with sensory delights and overloads, her music is tangible and imperfect, created by impulse, instinct and desire. Her fascination with people, technology and its impact on society, and the rhythms and patterns found in the natural world inform her every piece of reality.
Giving in to accidental melodies, Elle Vettica’s music is largely rooted in improv, with much of her earlier work existing as pure demos, first takes and rough recordings that hold a special moment of magic.
She has home-recorded over 400 songs, ranging from fake movie scores to teenage concept albums to sloppy pop songs. Her current solo work involves weaving vocal tapestries with contact-mic beats, all on a single track looper pedal.
One half of experimental-punk duo Pottery Mouth, with artist Jenn Goodwin.
Lead singer of Redd Meat (with Jesse Northey, Lyle Bell and Kim Temple).
